New wunderkind in Arsenal, loaned from Real Madrid

Norwegian international Martin Odegaard leaves Real Madrid for a loan until the end of the season. New wunderkind in Arsenal becomes the second player Madrid loaned to Gunners.

Norwegian international Martin Odegaard leaves Real Madrid for a loan until the end of the season.

Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard (22), has modest playing time at Real Madrid. Odegaard has arrived on loan at Arsenal until the end of the season.

Odegaard wanted to go to Real Sociedad on a loan. There he played 36 games in all competitions last season and scored seven goals. However, Real Madrid did not agree to that and agreed on a loan with Arsenal.

Odegaard has thus become Real Madrid’s second player on loan at Arsenal. Dani Ceballos has been among the Gunners since last season, also on a loan.

“It’s great that we’ve secured Odegaard to be with us until the end of the season,” said Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta. “Even though he is still young, he has played at a top level for a while. Martin will offer us a quality offensive option and we are all very excited to be able to include him in our plans until May.”

Arsenal will have to pay Real 2.8 million euros in loan fees plus the amount of Odegaard’s salary. Expectations from new wunderkind in Arsenal are high, but no matter his age, Odegaard is still a very good player.
