Football expert Mauricio Pochettino is a new Paris Saint-Germain coach. Argentinian signed the contract which ends in June 2022. Pochettino inherited the French champions from German Thomas Tuchel, who was the boss since the summer of 2018.

Pochettino arrived at the club where he played from 2001 to 2003. Today, PSG is in a much better condition than it was during Pochettino’s playing days.

“I am really happy and honoured to become the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain,” said Pochettino. He also added he was looking forward to being back at Parc des Princes.

“As you know, this club has always held a special place in my heart. I have wonderful memories, especially of the unique atmosphere of the Parc des Princes. I return to the club today with a lot of ambition and humility, and am eager to work with some of the world’s most talented players”.

Argentine has been without a club since November 19 last year when Tottenham sacked him. He led Spurs for more than five years, and their greatest success came in 2019 when the Spurs reached the Champions League final. In the finale Liverpool won.

There are already speculations about the moves that Pochettino could make in the January transition period. For now, he will likely get in touch with the English midfielder Dele Alli, whom he led at Tottenham. Dele Alli is allegedly dissatisfied with the treatment that the new coach Jose Mourinho gives them.

Thomas Tuchel left Pochettino’s PSG in third place in the league table with 35 points, one less than leading Lyon and second-placed Lille. In the Champions League, PSG will play against Barcelona in the 16th round.
