Ex player of Senegalese national team, Papa Bouba Diop will always be remembered as the best scorer at the World Championship 2002. Senegalese legend Diop passes away at age 42 on Sunday after a long and hard battle with illness.

The world will never forget the 2002. World Championship where Diop scored the first goal. His country, Senegal, won the game against the French who were world champions at that moment.

Diop played for the Senegal nation team 63 teams, and therefore he scored 11 goals. Throughout his career, he was an international player who played for lots of clubs. Some of them are Fulham, Portsmouth, West Ham and Birmingham City in England.

Although he played internationally, the scored biggest score for his national team will never be forgets. The whole country is mourning the football legend that helped African football. No other African country ever came that close to the finals, as Diops team did in 2002.
