Rivaldo said Barca made a mistake, everything for Messi

Former Barcelona player Rivaldo believes that the Catalans should have sold Messi. Just as Real Madrid sold Cristiano Ronaldo, earning around 100 million euros. Rivaldo said Barca made a mistake, by keeping Leo Messi.

One of the best footballers of all time, Rivaldo (48) reached the peak of his career playing for Barcelona. He won La Liga in 1998 and 1999, and the King’s Cup in 1998 with Barca.

Rivaldo said Barca made a mistake, they should have sold Lionel Messi as Real Madrid did with Cristiano Ronaldo. The saga surrounding Messi’s departure lasted for months. After numerous threats of lawsuits by former club leaders led by Josep Bartomeu, the Argentine remained.

Rivaldo is of the opinion that they made a mistake and that they should have sold it when they had the opportunity.

– The previous management made a mistake by not selling Messi. They could have done something similar to what Real Madrid did with Cristiano Ronaldo. They sold it and earned about 100 million euros – said Rivaldo.

The legendary Brazilian footballer admitted that he would never turn down Real Madrid, and one of the reasons is that he had a great relationship with Ronaldo with whom he wanted to play at the club.

– It would be great if I played with Ronaldo at Real. We would be a scary duo, Rivaldo told ‘Betfair’, adding: – Playing for Brazil, we showed what we can do, and we would have been even more deadly if we had transferred chemistry from the club to the national team.
